From Investigator Kristy Hinkle: August 27, 2006
I got the chance to work with another group on an investigation in Marion Ohio on August 26th, it was the Springfield Ghost Hunters Society, lead by Kathy Wolboldt and joined by Dave Frevert, Dorothy Frevert and John Middleton.
The group answered my distress call for a group in Ohio to help out with a case that I was called in on, When we were unable to get the entire group of Southern New England Paranormal together for this investigation.
Prospect Place:
The investigation of Prospect Place Mansion, out side of Dresden Ohio took place last night, Sept. 9th 2006.
I was invited by Springfield Ghost Hunters Society to accompany their group and one other group, Southern Ohio Paranormal Research, on this investigation.
My initial opinion on this place when I took a walking tour the weekend before was that, it most definitely had some sort of activity in it. I did capture a few things on my digital camera that appeared suspicious, but after comparison shots were taken, I was able to debunk one of two photos.
We went on the walk through prior to the investigation, and I had an experience. Up in the Ball Room, I felt like I was shoved into a corner, I lost my footing, for a minute, then had Kathy Wolboldt take pictures, came out with nothing in the shot.
When we were in the bedroom of Mary Elizabeth, second wife of George Adams, I felt anxious, nervous, like I wanted to run. I was very uncomfortable for a while, but then after we were on our own, no one investigating with me, felt anything. It was as though it was a dead cell.
The guys from Southern Ohio Paranormal Research had a few experiences. But through the night, none of the members of SGHS nor I had any.
I gathered over 200 shots on my digital cam, and 3 tapes of recordings. My recorder messed up, and all 3 tapes were ruined. I have no evidence to put fourth from my point of view. I got no pictures and no EVPs.
The others tried Table Tipping with the girl who gave us the tour, after some suspicion of her doing something she left the room and yet the table continued to answer questions, and at one point, levitate. We had recorded this from two or three different angles, and there is no question that no one at the table was moving it on their own.. That just wasn’t possible from one of the camera angles.
They also tried Dowsing rods, that proved to be very wild and active.
I have never used either of these techniques before so I was curious as to what we may see or find out.
I still did not use either one of these as I believe they are much like allowing yourself to be ‘used’ by spirits and that is never a good thing.
I simply sat back and watched and took pictures of course.
I am really hoping to do that again. Prospect Place does seem like a place with some type of activity, I am just sorry to report that I personally caught nothing. I am still waiting on the evidence from others who may have captured something..
I wanted to thank the members of SOPR and The members of SGHS for allowing me to participate in this investigation with them. I had a lot of fun working with such great people..
